Community Involvement

Tony and his wife Savannah are dedicated to giving back to the Sarasota community. Their passion for education and the arts is evident in their current active involvement in a number of non-profit organizations including:

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe

The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) was founded in December 1999 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) in Sarasota, Florida. They are the only professional black theatre company on Florida's west coast. Since its inception, WBTT has mentored and inspired many African-American youth and young adults through participation in the company's productions.

 

Asolo Repertory Theatre

The mission of Asolo Rep is to entertain, engage, and inspire through the highest quality professional repertory theatre and superior education programs. A center for theatrical excellence connected with Florida State University's Graduate Acting Conservatory, Asolo Rep stages up to fifteen productions every season, spanning a diverse repertoire of newly commissioned plays, bold reinterpretations of contemporary and classical works, and provocative new musical theatre experiences.

 

Visible Men Academy - Charter School

The purpose of VMA is to provide boys from low-income communities with outstanding academic, character, and social education in a nurturing school environment. The purpose is to deliver a high-quality educational experience that meets the specific needs of at-risk elementary and middle school-aged boys through the collaborative efforts of administrators, teachers, parents, the broader community and the students themselves.

 

Designing Daughters of Sarasota

Savannah Holds is a member of Designing Daughters, which gives grants to many local charities each year.  With almost no overhead, the majorirty of fundraising goes directly to a variety of community non-profit groups. Designing Daughters is made up of an impressive list of local, influential women. Members are well connected in the community and have been very successful in forming strategic alliances and getting underwriters to cover the expenses of their fundrasing events. Their signature event is the annual Shipwrecked Gala held each May.
